HOORAY FOR THE RED WHITE AND BLUE

It looks like Park Place Antiques in Marion is ready for the 4th in grand style, this is the front window.I think they (Barb) does a good job with that. If this doesn't make you think picnic and lemonade, I guess nothing will.

This booth belongs to another dealer who has lots of red white and blue,to go around. The store will be open regular hours, with 3 floors of antiques to choose from. Be sure to check out Mt Vernon on the 4th, I understand it is really something to see. Lots of vendors ,stores and good places to eat. The weatherman must have gotten my brian wave message cause the forcast is for 84 and a slight chance of rain. But this is Iowa that can change with the toss of a single dart. HAVE A SAFE AND FUN FILLED 4TH REMEMBER THE TROOPS G

YANKEE DOODLE DANDY

I have been saving this sweet little puzzle for the 4th of July. Well it's time to get it out, I am going to bring it in the house and put it together to make sure all of the pieces are there.I just love it ,you can't see on the box but, there is a red, white and blue border all the way around the edge. I'll take a picture of it after it's done I sure hope it's all here. These are some of the things we have gotten lately ,and will be taking to Mt.Vernon. The color on the insulator is as good as it looks in the picture.

Black and white enamel can look so clean and crisp. Can you believe the pitcher still has the original sticker on it . The coffee pot has had some use but looks pretty good for the most part.

This high chair has a removeable enamel tray, pretty fancy for back in the day. These pictures were taken in the garage, in the stall where my car is supposed to be.Most work on cleaning it out before winter. Me no likey scap snow. I have for sure lost my mind talking about snow in the middle of a heat wave.

TIME TO CATCH UP

Finally made it to the Candle Shed last Thursday, and met Sharon's daughter Piper. What a fun gal,she and her mother are a couple of super people, the apple didn't fall to far from the tree there. These gals both work very hard ,but it is at something they love. The store is a real treat, cool things every where. And it smells fantastic, cause Piper makes her candles in the back .Way cool, loved that part of the tour. We had a great visit ,hope to see them again . After lunch at a great place called Elly's, in downtown Muscatine,we were heading back to the car when we walked past this little alleyway.I had to take a picture of the door and stairs,it's between 2 buildings.Loved all the angles. Spending lots of time now getting ready for the 4th of July Sale in Mt. Vernon. This is a first for us. wish us luck and keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain. We were there last year and it poured .Maybe all the rain we are getting nowis enough for awhile but you know what they say about the weather in Iowa, If you don't like it wait 5 minutes it will change.
