IT'S STILL 'THE BUSY SEASON'

When I was in retail it was said Christmas was the Busy Season. Well I have been out of retail for a few years now and it seems to have gotten a lot busier. But I wouldn't trade it for all the down time you've got. This is Caryn in Sonshine singers CHRISTMAS PROGRAM at church,no need for political correctness here. It's a church Christmas Program we all know what we're here for.
This is my oldest granddaughter in her middle school drama class production of Honk Jr.Basically the story of the ugly duckling but jazzed up just right
This is Rylea my daughters youngest girl in her school Holiday program. She is the little blonde in the middle in the red dress.Cute program, but it took her longer to get dressed than she was on the stage 2 songs per grade, and this was only grades 2,3 and4.
This is Andrew his birthday was last Friday the 17th,he turned 6 my my they grow so fast. I didn't get any pictures of his program, counting on his mother for some.
All together since Thanksgiving there have 7 programs 1 Anniversary and 1 Birthday.I made it to all but 2 programs.I missed 1 because the singer was home sick and 1 from scheduling conflict.
By the first of the year we will have Christmas and 2 more birthdays. My daughters oldest Grace will turn 11 on Jan. 1st and my sons youngest, Torsten will be 2 on the same day.
And to make things real exciting my son and his wife are expecting a baby due Jan. 9th
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO YOU AND YOURS

BABY IT'S COLD OUTSIDE

The window at Park Place Antiques has gone from a witch brewing potion to a 50's household just before Christmas.Mom is in the kitchen ready to pass out hot chocolate.
Dad is standing next to the fireplace talking to Grandma, getting ready to light up his pipe after a hard day at the office.
It still needs some fluffing but the basics are in place, several people worked on this last night. Barb O has been working on it for a few days,Barb's husband Dan,JoDan, Sara and myself worked after the store closed last night. Believe it or not it is only 52 days till Christmas.

THE LAST ROSE OF SUMMER

These are some pictures I took of a single rose growing in my yard. I couldn't decide which shot to use so I used them all.
My husband was painting the foundation of the house and I had to clean up as many flowers as I could. Somehow I just couldn't cut this one.I love roses,I can remember when I was little my Grandfather had a beautiful rose garden .
It had a short white picket fence on three sides with a huge grape arbor in the back. The grapes grew up an over the top. He had a full size swing hanging from framework so in late summer you could go sit & swing in the shade and enjoy the sweet smell of the ripening grapes.
If only we could travel back in time to those simple days of childhood.

THIS IS MY BABY

This is CALICO. My daughter gave her to me in the spring of 1996,so for 14 years she has been my baby.
I always said I wanted a Calico cat.One day while she was at work she heard about someone giving away some kittens and they had a Calico. She went straight there and got her for me.
The next thing I know my door bell rang. I opened the door to find a box, when the box started meowing I about screamed, my daughter was hiding behind the house, she came out with the biggest grin on her face. In the box was this beautiful baby calico, like I said before she has been my baby for 14 years.
Until today ! CANCER WON THE BATTLE TODAY. It was a heart breaking decision to make, but she was starting to have trouble breathing and didn't really want to eat.I let her go before it became more of a struggle for her and before she was afraid of what was happening to her.

I LOVE THE COLORS OF FALL

As I"m sure you can tell from these pictures I really do love the colors of the fall. The problem is that we all know what this means. Just around the corner is the cold . I don't like the cold weather so well. If I could stay in the house and look out at the pretty white snow all winter long that would suit me just fine. I LOVE to watch the snow falling at night under the street light when there is no sound on the street.

AUTUM LEAVES

These 2 trees are in my front yard .Every year they turn the most BEAUTIFUL colors. This year is no exception. Although they seem to have gone real fast,I took these picture a little over a week ago, and most of the leaves have all ready fallen.
