DOGS OF W.C. 10.2011

This little girl reminded me of my auntie ...she use to raise Bostons, then I found out her name is Greta......(my daughters name) OMG ....the gal said all the way home after getting her she just kept thinking I hope I don't regret this....and what do you know another Greta.and no she hasn't regretted it..
I'm not real fond of ankle biters ...but this little one was cute in her stroller!!!!!!
This is more my speed. A good old fashion German Shepard. For a pup he was doing real well, you have to imagine all the people and other dogs must be hard to concentrate on your owner......
She and her person were back and forth, back and forth all day......he stopped at the stand across the drive from us and bought a bottle of water. When I got this she was asking for a drink.... Very polite.
Last but not least this little bundle is about the size of a doll right now... I could not pass up a chance to take a picture of a Corgi.....my bff ML loves Corgis,so this little sweeetie is for her .
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ML. & HAPPY WEDDING FOR MISS LAUREN.......

THE WORKING GROUP

Her owner said she was small for her breed,I think it may have made her a little self conscious. She refuses to look at a camera,I think she is beautiful..but a bit sad.
This pair was very well behaved
Waiting ever so nicely.....
And what can I say about a chocolate Lab.....oh baby!!!!!! All the dogs are special.

TILL NEXT TIME

A PAIR OF HUMMERS IN MY BACKYARD

Next to my grandchildern this is one of the coolest pictures I have taken. It could be clearer, it could be centered better, but I'll take what I can get. A couple of weeks ago I bought a new Hummingbird feeder on clearence at Menards. I have tried to attract them before with no luck, but for $4 I thought what the heck. I already had the nectar so out it went, the first week nothing. Then wowza off and on all through the day . I was determined to get a picture so when I would see him/her I would try and sneek out into the yard, well yesterday I got one.
Then last night I thought we were going to have an emergancy. We had the garage door open loading for WHAT CHEER ( we leave 1week from today). And zoom a streak of green flew past my head and into the garage,I freaked cause I didn't know how in the world we were going to get him out.He flew around in there for several minutes, I got away from the door, and he flew further in and landed on a stool . My husband went towards the back and out he came thank god.
While watching today I saw that there is a pair, omg how cool is that.I will keep tring to get better pictures,What beautiful little creatures........

SOME NEW TREASURES

Went to an auction this past Sat in Vinton , first one I've gone to in quite awhile. There were some really cool things from a time long gone.
This little drum was in pretty good shape ,but you can tell some little kid sure enjoyed it.
Could not believe we got this whole stack of seed sacks in one lot. Most of them are clean and not real faded,in the trailer they go off to What Cheer. That is in less than 2 weeks ya know.
I saved what I think is the best thing we bought for the end. This trike is in fantastic shape,Mike & Frank from Pickers would have a fit .The seat is leather ,the tires are rubber, over all the paint is in good shape. Some one really loved this trike and took good care of it all these years. It will be traveling to What Cheer with us .I hope it finds a home with someone who will love it
TILL NEXT TIME TAKE CARE OF YOU

WHAT A WAY TO SPEND A SUMMER EVENING

What were you doing this past Wed. night? I spent 2 hours hanging around Capones Bar in Cedar Rapids watching these magnificent horses.
He seems to be saying "Hello are you really going to stand out here in 100 degree heat just to look at ME!" "Humans go figure"
I even got a shot of the dog on the wagon
They came down 16th Ave and across the bridge, around the block and to Capones parking lot. For a little over an hour they stood there so majesticly while everyone took there picture. In case you haven't guessed I LOVE CLYDESDALES. They are one of the most beautiful horses.

PICTURES OF AN IOWA SUMMER

These beautiful blackeyed susans are from my yard.
This chubby cheeked little chipmunk lives under our shed.
Some annuals in the yard.
Fantastic grapes are from my daughters yard, she makes killer jelly from them.
Home grown grape and cherry tomatoes. Pass the salt shaker yummo.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!
A single rose in honor of my grandfather. He had the neatest rose garden. He has been gone since I was 14 years old and I can still picture myself swinging in the grape arbor at the back of the garden.
Oh to have those days again

Barb H from Sister's Garden , she said she doesn't like to have her picture taken, she was a good sport and let me take a quick one.
I had never had a chance to really visit with her before ,I seem to always come when they are busy. There were only a couple of ladies in the shop so we had a chance to chat. What a sweet heart .
We made our way through both buildings and even came across Brandon upstairs.
Sharon's room Wild Things another multi-talented gal. A real hoot love her spirit.
Went on into Kalona made the rounds there .Stopped at the cheese factory and Stringtown grocery on the way back home
